achieve, Woods’ entire 2000 season took a long time to complete
but was worth the wait. Nine tournament titles, including three
majors, was just part of the story. The nine victories came in 20
official starts. Woods was in the top 10 in all but three of those
starts, and he earned a record $9,188,321. The year was so good
that when Woods won five tournaments and one major in 2001, people
said he was actually in a slump. It will be another couple of
generations before someone has the same kind of year, unless Woods
himself produces a similar year.
