It amazes me that some one as great a ball player as
Pete Rose, isn't in the Hall of Fame. It's
understandable that if Pete gambled on baseball that
baseball can ban him for life, but for the Hall of
Fame to Change it's rules that no-one banned from
baseball can get into the Hall after baseball's
decision on Pete is Shameful. It's even more shameful
when you consider that the Hall of Fame is loaded with
Racist's, Druggies, and Wife beater's that Pete Rose
isn't enshrined. To all who visit, don't most people
get a second chance in life? It's there currently a 3
strikes law, where a felon gets 3 chances before he or
she is locked up forever... Folks, even if you believe
Pete Rose is a guilty SOB and that baseball Can ban
him for life... doesn't has record still have a place
in baseball history? And remember folks, the Hall of
Fame and the MLB are 2 different beasts. One does not
act based on the other. So tell me... is 14 years a
reasonable price for Pete to pay? We think so.

THE
MOMENT A sellout
crowd at Riverfront Stadium and a national
television
audience were watching to see if Rose could break Cobb's hit
record
--> something that seemed unbreakable. Rose didn't
disappoint.
In the first inning, he hit a line drive on a
2-1 slider from Show for hit No. 4,192.
Rose's hit set off a wild and emotional
celebration. The 47,237 fans stomped and roared
their approval in what San Diego first baseman Steve Garvey
calls the greatest ovation he has seen. Rose's teammates
poured out of the Cincinnati dugout. After receiving
congratulations from his teammates and a blazing red
Corvette with license plate "PR 4192," a gift from Reds
owner Marge Schott, Rose stood by himself at first base and
broke down. Rose turned to first base coach Tommy Helms,
threw an arm around one shoulder and put his head on the
other, crying. Then Rose's son, Pete Rose Jr., emerged again
from the dugout, ran to his dad and the two Roses embraced
Papa Joe
Chevalier is the Reason! I love listening to Papa Joe on
Sporting News Radio. I was a Pete Rose basher at one time in
my life, but with Papa Joe's fact driven argument as too why
Pete has paid the price and should be at least be in the
Hall of Fame [maybe not baseball, but the Hall] I came to
become enlighten and now am a supporter of Pete Rose's
plight to enter the Hall of Fame. Way to go Papa, A Bite-me
NOT! for you.
